NEBOSH International General Certyficate

There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this NEBOSH International National General Certificate level qualification. Although students will find it helpful to have already achieved certification of a NEBOSH International Award level qualification first as this greatly improves a students’ potential end-result 

This health & safety NEBOSH International General Certificate is suitable for managers and supervisors or other employee representatives and covers the primary legal requirements as laid out in International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions and recommendations and documented best international practices for managing health and safety in the workplace.

Standart of English

An adequate understanding of the English language required by students whom undertake study for the NEBOSH International General Certificate must be to such degree that they can both understand and articulate the key concepts contained within the course syllabus.

Exams and how you're assessed

Examinable Units

There are three major course Units (IGC1, GC2 & GC3) to successfully complete before you become fully certified with the NEBOSH National General Certificate qualification.

Exam Venue

The examinations are held four time each year and are to be taken on location at a registered NEBOSH examination centre. Additional sitting fees may be applicable based on the exam centre venue.

Exam Schedule

The examinations are scheduled onNEBOSH standard examination datesin the months of March / June / September / December.

Written Exam Papers

Examinations comprise of two 2-hour written papers for each of the core unit modules (namely IGC1 & GC2), which means there are two, 2-hour examinations in total. For each of the written papers (IGC1 + GC2) the exam questioning format consists of onelong answerquestion and tenshort answerquestions – all of which you should attempt to gain maximum marks.

Practical Exam Papers

In addition, students must complete a practical inspection report assessment for Unit GC3. Thepractical paper GC3consists of carrying out a risk assessment of a workplace and preparing a short report.

How your NEBOSH papers are marked

The core Unit exam papers will be marked by approved NEBOSH examiners that provide basic feedback and an overall grade. You need to gain a minimum passing grade of 45 marks out of 100 for each of the core Unit exam papers. The GC3 practical assessment is graded by your assigned SHEilds tutor and a minimum passing grade of 60 out of 100 marks is required to successfully pass.

IMPORTANT!Only students who have enrolled with NEBOSH through an accredited NEBOSH training centre are eligible to register for the examination.
